Years carping: I caught my first fish at the age of 4, first carp at 10, first carp over 10 kg at 18 (in 1987), so that means 21 years of carp fishing.

MOST MEMORABLE ANGLING MOMENT: I have two of them. The first was in August 1994 when I landed together with my friend Denis my biggest grass carp weighing 251kg, which was a really huge fish for me at the moment, and still is the Shumbar lake record. The second one was in September 2000 when I caught a 201kg common from the Kupa river, a very hard water for targeting big fish.

ANGLING CV: I’ve written two books about carp fishing in Croatia. The first is titled Basic Carp Fishing which was published in 2000 (which sold out), and the second is Modern Carp Fishing which came out in 2006. I’ve been writing articles about carp fishing in Croatia since 1992. I’ve written for Ribici i ribe, Udica, Svijet sarana and Sportski ribolov magazines in Croatia, for Vode in mi in Slovenia, for Ribolovački magazin and Ribolovački trofej in Serbia, for Tutti Carpa in Italia, for American Carp Fisher in USA, for International Carper in the UK, plus a few more…

FAVORITE TV PROGRAM: I like to watch  good films on TV, especially  US Westerns. My favourite one is Dance with the Wolves - I‘ve seen it four times!

FAVORITE MUSIC: I like rock from the 70s and 80s. My favourite bands are Pink Floyd, AC/DC, U2, and the Police

WHICH MAGAZINES AND PAPERS DO YOU READ: All carp fishing magazines which have some articles from people like Rod Hutchinson, Tim Paisley, Leon Hoogendijk, Steve Briggs, Simon Crow, and Julian Cundiff. I started to edit two years ago in Croatia a carp fishing magazine under the name of Svijet šarana, and I am more than happy to have articles from such good writers in every issue.

DO YOU LIKE SPORT: Yes, I like swimming in rivers in the summer, and skiing in winter

ALL TIME  DREAM GIRL: I am recently married for the second time, so at the moment it is my wife!

ANY UNFULFILED AMBITIONS IN CARP FISHING: To catch a nice river common over 25kg and to dig myself a lake. I’ve already bought myself the land for it 25km from my home, so I hope I will succeed to do that in the next 5 to 10 years.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF: I am a carp angler who likes to work a lot and to fish in peace on uncrowded waters. I like my own privacy. I am not always addicted to catching big fish, sometimes I prefer nice nature and fishing in company with my long time carp fishing mate Denis (we have fished together for over 30 years).
