| Success at Cassien for the Venture team |
|
| Many of the Venture team managed to make it down to Cassien this summer and everyone ended up having a great time. Steve Briggs and his partner Joan were joined by many of their friends from Germany including Meik Pyka, partner Semone, brothers Nicky and Benny as well as other friends and girlfriends. Between them they caught plenty of fish when the lake wasn't fishing at its best. Meik and Semone caught the best at 26kg, followed closely by Nicky and Benny with a 25kg mirror. All were using the venture V1 and V2 rods. Most of the German guys fish were caught on Black Label baits while Steve and Joan's were on Solar products. |

| Simon Crow lands a 54lb English mirror! |
|
Venture's Simon Crow seems to be catching carp wherever he goes these days, but he landed a very significant fish recently in the shape of the famous Black Eye from Chad Lakes Home Pool at a massive new PB weight of 54lb! It was Simon's second trip to the venue and he had his eyes firmly set on catching the big mirror after seeing it on the bank previously, but he could never have envisaged catching it on his very first day of the trip - which is exactly what happened!
He spotted the fish resting in one corner of the pool and when it moved off briefly, he took the chance to get his rig in place and just a few hours later Black Eye returned and couldn't resist his Solar Club Mix offering. He went on to land three other carp including a stunning heavily-scaled mirror of 28lb 12oz and a huge catfish of over 50lb. Catching his first English 50 means that Simon now joins an elite group of anglers who have caught 50's from four countries - a group which already includes Steve Briggs.
With several days of his trip still left, Simon decided to let his old mate Steve have a few days on there and he duly made the most of it by helping himself to a 28lb 2oz mirror. All of the fish were caught using Venture's V1 and V2 rods. |

| Winter success for the Venture team |
|
| Opportunities for fishing have been few and far between lately and it's been even worse for our friends over in Germany with horrendous conditions. So when the chance came up for a session at Rainbow Lake it was too good an offer to refuse. Venture consultants Mark Bergmann and Meik Pyka made up part of the German team who were visiting the lake for the first time and they got off to a fast start with Mark landing a 55lb common, Meik a 58lb mirror and good friend Hauke Kleinen landing his new PB of just over 60lb. Steve Briggs was late arriving after attending the Zwolle show in Holland and he found it tough going around in swim 18, but he did save a blank session with a mirror of high 30's. Mark finished just how he started though, and on the last night he was in action again with another common of 53lb. All in all a good result in what were very tough and cold conditions. The anglers all coped with the adverse weather by using the Venture Cassien 2-Man bivvies and of course all of the fish were landed using Venture rods. |

| Venture at Zwolle |
|
The Zwolle show takes place over the 6th and 7th of February and the good news is that Venture will have a full team in attendance. Rob Hughes, Simon Crow, Steve Briggs, Mark Bergmann and Dave Watson will all be on hand to have a chat with you and of course show you through the range of Venture gear. We will have our latest products on show for you to look at, including our latest Recovery Sling which has been improved even further and also the new additions to the bivvy range, including the new Razorback Compact.
On both days at 13.00 Steve Briggs will be giving a talk on his fishing through 2009. Steve will talk about the many different waters he fished last year and the different tactics, baits and rigs which he used to good effect. Also on the stand will be Free Bird publishing and Steve will be on hand to sign copies of his latest book, Cassien....and Beyond. | Feedback from customers has always been important to us here at Venture and it's always good to hear what you think about our gear. But the best feedback is undoubtedly when we hear that you've been out there catching fish and just recently we heard from Andy who lives over in Romania. | Venture Facebook picture winner |
|
| The Venture Facebook picture competition proved to be a big success and we received some stunning pictures from Venture users all around the world. The team had to pick a winner though and we all agreed that this picture of Matjaz Zavrl with a cracking common of 15.100kg from Lake Bled in Slovenia should take the top spot! Not only is it a lovely fish, the picture has been very well composed and it also looks very seasonal! Congratulations go out to Matjaz from all the Venture team, he wins one of Venture's most popular items, the XL Recovery Sling. |

| Forthcoming shows with Venture |
|
| With Christmas and New Year now well behind us, Venture is looking forward to several European shows where we will be exhibiting the full range of kit, including the new Plus-4 and Compact Razorback bivvies, both new for 2010. The first show is at Cottbus in Germany which takes place over the weekend 23rd and 24th January where Rob Hughes will be present with European Sales Manager Dave Watson and German consultant Mark Bergmann. February takes us to Holland where we will be at the hugely successful Zwolle show over the weekend 6th and 7th. Steve Briggs will be on hand at this show along with Dave Watson and others yet to be announced. Steve will be signing copies of his latest book, Cassien....and Beyond along with Freebird Publishing who will also have their other books on show. | A great year for Meik Pyka |
|
Meik Pyka is no stranger to big fish, in fact he has one of the very best records around for consistently catching some of the best fish around! Over the last few months of 2009 Meik fished some totally new waters in Germany and France and once again it didn't take him long to put together a list of fantastic results including four fabulous 50's as well as several 30's and 40's! In Germany he fished a heavily pressured gravel pit, a river and a long channel and amongst many others, he landed a real creature of a common of 58lb 4oz and a very old, long mirror of 54lb.
In France, Meik fished a new water in the south and caught a series of fish over 30lb with four over 44lb (20kg) with two real biggies of 50lb and 50lb 7oz. All of Meik's catches came on the Venture rods. |

| Great Cassien winter results for Steve and Gary |
|
Steve Briggs was back down at Cassien this winter for another session albeit a somewhat more brief affair than what he's used to. He had to attend the VBK show in Belgium first but went straight on to Cassien afterwards arriving mid - December. Good friend Gary Hillson had already been down for a couple of weeks by then and in good conditions landed a string of big fish including two mirrors of 54lb and 58lb 6oz! But by the time Steve arrived the cold weather had set in and things slowed down a little and he had to wait until the 5th morning before he caught his first fish, a 44lb 8oz mirror. He went on to land another two mirrors of 41lb and 47lb 8oz before catching a Christmas Day common of 26lb.
Both the boys landed all their fish on the Venture VXR-1 rods and the Venture bivvies coped well with the adverse weather conditions. |

| Facebook Competition |

Dear All,
Venture Carp will be running a monthly competition for the best fish through our Facebook site - now, this does not have to be the biggest just what we believe to the best example of a carp. The pictures will be judged by Simon Crow, Steve Briggs, Dave Watson, Brett Sanford and Vickie Cooper and the winner will be announce each month by an email.
December 2009 will be the launch month so all pictures need to be in by 31.12.09 any received after that time will not be considered we will announce the winner in the early part of January 2010.
We will then carry this competition on month by month so please ensure your pictures are received by the last day of the month. The winners will be posted on the Venture Facebook gallery for all to see!!!!!

| They're here - the new Razorback Compact and Plus-4! |

Venture are pleased to announce that the latest additions to their growing range - the Razorback Compact and the Razorback Plus-4 are now on the shelves.
The Plus-4 is only available in the high performance VT5000 material, and comes as a complete bivvy system including pegs, full groundsheet, zip-in front panel with double zip door and Velcro-in mosquito mesh in-fill panel. a separate 'special' extended overwrap is available, but the great thing is that the Plus-4 is designed to fit all the traditional Razorback add-ons, including the Vapour Skin, Razorvision and additional door panel designs.
The Compact has been developed to give you all the same features which the ground-breaking Razorback shelter is famous for, but it packs down even smaller. Simon Crow came up with the idea after fishing so many overnighters in the past and realising how bulky rod holdalls can be if they also have to house a bivvy. Two extra joints have been added to the poles so that the Compact folds down small enough to fit easily on to a barrow or even on the top of a rucksack, making it even more versatile.
The Razorback Compact works with all the original Razorback add-ons, including the extended overwrap, Vapour Skin, and all of the different door options. It is available in nylon only and comes complete with zip-in front panel with double zip door, full groundsheet, pegs and lightweight carry bag.
The Razorback Compact and the new Razorback Plus-4 are available through all good retailers within the UK and Holland. The Plus-4 retails at £525 whilst the Compact is priced at £350. |

| Great new products from Venture |

| The boys at Venture have been keeping a low profile for a while now, but they're back with two new releases for 2010. Based on their best-selling Razorback, they've two brand new shelters which become available on 13th November 2009. Venture's chief, Rob Hughes revealed: "We've been busy designing a few new items, the first two to hit the market are the Razorback Plus-4 shelter and the Razorback Compact. The Plus-4, which we actually designed over a year ago - boasts an extra rib at the front of the bivvy, giving it extra protection above the door. As for the Compact, this is a design we're immensley proud of and it allows the bivvy to be packed down smaller, making it more compact to fit on a barrow or in the top of a rucksack."
