| Great result in Slovenia for Oto Sorsak |
| Lake Bled in Slovenia is not somewhere that many people will have heard of before but it is certainly producing some great fish - especially for Venture dealer, Oto Sorsak and his friends. Oto and Aljosa chose an area of the lake close to where the fish tend to spawn and they ended up having a right result, banking over 45 carp with the smallest going 8kg but Oto landed a superb common of 25.1kg while Aljosa wasn't far behind with a mirror of 23.8kg. Altogether they used 60kg of boilies from Black Label baits and Big Fish and 30kg of pellets. Oto landed all of his fish on the Venture VXR rods whilst Aljosa used the Venturis V1's. |

| Venturis V1 rods are the tops for Adrian |
| It's always good to get feedback from people who are using Venture products and Adrian Fautley has beeen particularly impressed with the Venturis V1 rods which he's been having some success with recently: "V1 rods out at range or in the margins are the absolute tool! You can feel every bit of movement of the fish and they are stiff but forgiving when playing a fish in." |

| Acton action for Steve Briggs |
| Venture's Steve Briggs spent six days fishing on the lower lake at Acton Burnell in Shropshire. The lake is known for being fairly difficult only holding 25 carp in total, but Steve managed to bank six carp during his stay, all mirrors weighing 32lb 8oz, 33lb 4oz, 33lb 12oz, 35lb 2oz, 38lb 4oz and 48lb 4oz! Apart from the first fish which was caught on a double 14mm Solar Club Mix bait, all of the fish fell to Solar Quench pop ups over matching boilies. Every fish was landed on the awesome Venturis V1 rods along with Ultima Power Carp line. |

| Keith Williams has been on top form lately, not only has he recently recorded a new English-best carp, he's now smashed his PB across in France! Keith told us: "I fished over at Millstone Pool in early May and came away with 24 fish including two 20's, nine 30's to 39lb 14oz, ten 40's up to 48lb 13oz and three 50's including my biggest carp ever at 58lb 10oz! All the fish were caught on the brilliant Venturis V2 3.25 rods along with Ultima Power Carp line and a new bait from Mainline." |

| Personal bests all around for the Venture boys! |
It seems as if Simon Crow has started a trend with his recent personal best as two more of the Venture team have also got in on the act. Keith Williams landed a new personal best English carp of 43lb 2oz from an Essex water first time out with a set of the Venture V2 rods! He was using a prototype bait from Mainline with a 360 rig made from Ultima stiff mono.
Dave Watson went all the way to Holland to land his biggest carp to date. He was taking part in a competition on the heavily-pressured Sloterplas lake and although his swim didn't look anything special, he soon saw some fish showing at very close range and placed his hook bait just four metres out where it was picked up in quick time by a lovely mirror of 17kg (37lb 5oz) which was not only a PB but also won the competition for Dave and his partner! |

| Second Yorkshire forty for Simon Crow |
Simon Crow notched up a new English PB and his second Yorkshire forty when he landed this much sought-after mirror at 43lb 6oz. The fish came from a tough day-only venue, which he has been targetting over the last two years. It is also known to be the county's biggest carp!
Crowy revealed "This is a real history fish for the north of England, a home grown warrior that's been around for years. The twenty acre lake only holds around 20 carp and it involves a 100 mile round trip to do just short sessions." The fish came at 11am just as Simon was tidying up his gear in readiness to leave at midday to go to work.
The fish fell for a single 18mm Solar Club Mix readymade boily over just six freebies. The size 6 Solar Wide Gape hook was tied to Kryston's Super Nova hook link. The big mirror was landed on a Venture VXR-2 rod.

| Practice makes perfect for Dave Watson |
| Venture's 'man on the go' Dave Watson managed to find a bit of spare time away from his normal duties to put in a bit of practice for the British Carp Angling Championships down at Elphicks lake, where he caught a number of crackers! Here's just one that he banked during the short session. Come and see Dave along with Venture's Steve Briggs down at the Fishing World of Kent tackle shop at Headcorn in Kent on Saturday the 2nd May, where they will be displaying the Venture gear and talking about a variety of carping matters. Everyone is welcome! |

| Venturis V1 - the ultimate small water rod? |
| It is often said that there isn't a rod to suit all situations, but we demand so much more from our gear these days and especially from rods! How can you have a rod to fish the margins with but one that will still have the power to launch a big lead or PVA bag - well the Venturis V1 might just be the answer! Briggsy has definitely been converted: "At first I thought the V1 might be a little stiff for close range stuff but having used them for a while I really do think that they are the ultimate small water rod. They will cope with a big chuck if needed but I've been impressed with how they handle a fish under the tip - and they look the part!" But dont just take our word for it, check out the May issue of Crafty Carper and see what editor Lewis Porter thinks of the V1's after eight months of testing - you might just be converted yourself! |

| Great weeks fishing for Briggsy at Maison du Lac Bleu |
| Steve Briggs spent the first week of April over in France where it was the start of the season at Maison du Lac Bleu. It was Steve's first time at the venue and chose to fish Etang Joly, the largest of four lakes at the complex. He fished three swims during his stay, catching fish from all of them, with mirrors of 40lb 12oz and 42lb topping the list. Steve said: "It was a fabulous week and the venue is one of the very best for sure - definitely premier league! We were looked after brilliantly and I cannot thank Nick, Cindy and Chris Davies enough." All of Steve's fish fell for Solar BYT and Quench boilies on size 6 longshank hooks and the Venturis V1 rods did the business landing every fish effortlessly. There are still spaces at Maison du Lac Bleu this year for anyone who fancies a bit of French fishing in style. Check out their website: www.maisondulacbleu.com |

| Yorkshire thirty for Crowy! |
Venture's Simon Crow notched up his first Yorkshire thirty of 2009 when he slipped the net under this 30lb 6oz old warrior. The 38-year-old from Brough in East Yorkshire (a northern region of the UK) tempted the scaley mirror using his ever-faithful Solar BYT ready-mades.
He revealed: "Fish of this calibre are great targets for northern UK carpers as they're quite rare up here and it was a wonderful memory catching it. I watched it chugging along at 30 yards range just moments before it went down and picked up my hook bait. I'd baited a silty depression with a dozen 24mm baits, and landed the fish using a VXR-2 rod which performed wonderfully under the tip."
The mirror came during a short three-hour morning trip from a difficult estate lake which contains no more than 20 carp. Crowy spent a lot of time watching the carp in the build up to this trip and put his result down to perseverance and quality bait. |

| Briggsy joins the Tackle Tarts! |
| Steve Briggs recently spent a very enjoyable day down at TackleTarts Angling at Ashford in Middlesex. The shop, which stocks Venture gear is run by Pete, Paul and 'Patch' the dog and is very much a 'carp anglers' shop where people tend to drop in regularly to talk all things carpy. Why not drop in and see the guys if you are passing, they've only been there 18 months or so, but have already established a good business. |

| Mark Bartlett just keeps catching them! |
| There's no doubt that Venture consultant, Mark Bartlett has been one of the most consistent anglers through the early part of 2009. He's managed to keep catching through the worst of conditions - even when he's had to wait for the lakes to thaw out! But what is also outstanding is the quality of the carp Mark has banked, with a string of 30lb plus beauties to his name. His most recent result is another stunner of 37lb 7oz and a cracking picture, it has to be said! Mind you, it's not only his results that are a bit tidy - just take a look at the set up! |

| Bartlett Bags another beauty! |
| The winter may have been long and hard but that hasn't stopped certain people from getting out there and doing what they do best! Mark Bartlett seems to have discovered some really good form of late - especially when it comes to landing some of the most striking carp that we've seen for some time. The Venture V2 rods are certainly being put to task and seem to be doing the business. Mark told us: "Oi Oi landed this little belter yesterday at 30lb 9oz. I had to wait for the lake to defrost to get the rods out. The rods are spot on!" |
